FALL/17: ANN HOBSON PILOT AND TAI MURRAY PERFORM MICHAEL'S ARRANGEMENTS FOR VIOLIN AND HARP
In coast-to-coast performances during the Fall of 2017, my mentor, former teacher, and retired Boston Symphony harpist, Ann Hobson Pilot with renowned American violinist, Tai Murray performed and premiered several of my arrangements for violin and harp on these two programs:
Sarasota, FL - From October 12th-15th, Pilot and Murray performed an all-Astor Piazzolla tango program with Rodolfo Zanetti on bandoneon and dancers from Sarasota Contemporary Dance for their 12th season-opener. They performed my arrangements of Libertango, Escualo, Valsisimo, and harp solo Chiquilin de Bachin. Read the review here.
Oakland, CA - On Saturday, November 11th, Pilot and Murray performed several of my arrangements for violin and harp including the world premiere of my latest Astor Piazzolla commission, Oblivion. My other violin and harp arrangements performed that night included Piazzolla's Valsisimo and Escualo, Maurice Ravel's Pavane pour une infante défunte, and Zequinha Abreu's Tico-Tico No Fubá.
